O pedido deve ser feito com o mínimo de 48h de antecedência, através dum requerimento no site https://inforestudante.ilnova.fcsh.unl.pt/ – poderá especificar o dia e/ou hora a que prefere fazer o teste, sendo que receberá depois a confirmação da marcação. Caso não haja vaga, será sugerido um horário ou dia diferentes.

O pagamento dos 18,50€ do teste é feito através de transferência bancária – os dados estarão disponíveis no final do requerimento, no entanto poderá solicitar os mesmos através do email ilnova@fcsh.unl.pt.

O teste terá a duração de cerca de 1 hora. As entrevistas orais são marcadas a cada 15 minutos.

Este teste não confere a atribuição de um certificado de competência linguística, pois trata-se somente de um teste de aferição.

English Pronunciation Workshop

• this workshop is aimed at foreign speakers of English with a working knowledge of the language and wo would like to learn and practice spoken English and have a clearer pronunciation. The aim is not to brush off your foreign accent but to make you more intelligible and fluent in speech.

Oral presentations – From text to speech – Develop your oral presentation skills!

This course is aimed at anyone who would like to practice and improve their skills in presenting to small or big audiences in a professional or academic setting. The course covers the drafting of a presentation from text to preparation of script, handouts and slides, and techniques for an effective delivery of the presentation, such as body language, public speaking and rhetorical techniques.

Get a job – CVs, Cover Letters and Interviewing

This course is aimed at anyone looking for new job opportunities or people who would like to keep their CVs updated according to current trends for professional or academic purposes. It includes general guidelines for writing a CV and all the correspondence related to job applications, and speaking practice of different types of interviews. The result should be a profile package for each person attending the course.

Programa em breve.

Os níveis de Inglês têm uma progressão distinta das restantes línguas, porque se trata de uma aprendizagem que na sua acreditação internacional também se rege de forma distinta. Adequámos os níveis de Inglês aos padrões internacionais de progressão da aprendizagem nesta língua, de acordo com a estimativa de uma média de 60 horas de aulas por cada nível. Assim, o nosso quadro baseia-se na convicção de que um estudante leva 120 horas para completar o nível A1, 180h para o A2, 180h para o B1, etc., sendo estes níveis sempre níveis de saída e a denominação dos cursos em termos de preparação para a respectiva saída.

• O ILNOVA prepara os estudantes que desejem obter um certificado internacional reconhecido pela Universidade de Cambridge.
• Oferecemos também a certificação simples do estudo do Inglês, para quem não necessite do certificado internacional.
• Note que o ILNOVA apenas organiza cursos de preparação para os exames internacionais de Inglês. A organização destes é da responsabilidade da FCSH/British Council.

Rima Jay Prakash

An academic background in Psychology, altogether with a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) and a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) has resulted in various experiences from working with dyslexia, ADHD and bilingual students to English as a Foreign Language teaching. My professional path in EFL began with teaching young learners, almost twelve years ago. I currently manage a language school that provides English as an extracurricular activity to many private schools within the area of Lisbon. This involves recruiting and managing ELT teachers and providing teacher training as well as organising courses and selecting materials. My experience with teaching adults is both within General and Business English. Having begun teaching at undergraduate level at a Business school I went on to working in Ilnova, a language institute in Universidade Nova de Lisboa. I am also teaching English to first year Masters students at the Faculty of Medicine at the aforementioned university. Moreover, I have recently had the opportunity to endeavour in a PhD in Education that has allowed me to merge both my interest and fascination for special needs education and English as a Foreign Language

Rui Azevedo

Cláudia Pereira

Cláudia studied Linguistics at FLUL and started working life as a Research Assistant for Centro de Linguística da Universidade de Lisboa in the areas of Psycholinguistics and Phonetics. She then started teaching and for the past 20 years has taught General and Academic English as well as Technical English (such as English for Finance, the Aviation Industry, the Pharmaceutical Industry, Medical Sciences, IT and Tourism&Hospitality). She worked in Belgium, Holland and in Portugal and she is now an English Lecturer in FLUL as well as an English teacher for ILNOVA and a trainer in behavioural courses for her own company, Circunflexo. Her main focus is on Business English, in areas such as Presentations, Meetings and Negotiations. She has a C.E.L.T.A. from Cambridge University and has taught courses of preparation for the Cambridge exams and IELTS. Her work as a linguist includes positions as Linguistic Consultant for Letrário, Language Specialist in the development of text-to-speech technology in Belgium, and Portuguese Language Specialist for Microsoft and Nuance in the U.S.A.

Ian Merrilees

Bacharelato (pré-Bolonha) pela Universidade de Sheffield em Filosofia, e mestrado em Direito Europeu pela Universidade de Leeds, em Inglaterra. A partir dos anos 1990, ensinou Direito Europeu, Direito Internacional Público, e várias disciplinas sobre Direito Inglês (constitucional, contrato, delito civil) em universidades do Reino Unido e da Nova Zelândia. Além disso, leccionou cursos na Faculdade de Artes e Letras da Open University em Inglaterra e na Escócia.

Escreveu sobre o referendo de independência escocesa de 2014, e sobre as suas ramificações no Direito Comunitário. Contribuiu para publicações sobre a regulamentação do vício em França e Inglaterra no século XIX. Encontra-se actualmente a trabalhar num livro sobre o direito da indústria musical.

Katie Gray Craven

After completing three undergraduate degrees (in Business Administration, Portuguese and Latin American Studies) from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the U.S.A, Katie Gray Craven stumbled into an English language classroom to earn small change while living in Brazil and discovered a passion for teaching. She has taught English, Portuguese and Spanish in a wide range of contexts, from pre-schools, to language institutes, to private companies, to universities in the U.S., Brazil and Portugal. Her M.S. in Foreign Language Education with Honors from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville included coursework completed at the Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina, Brazil, where she continues to have professional contacts. In her early years in Lisbon, she worked as an Assistant Director of Studies at Cambridge School, Portugal where she particularly enjoyed helping design their first blended learning curriculum, mentoring young teachers and designing English for Special Purposes curricula. She currently works as a freelance English instructor, Portuguese-English translator and academic editor. In her free time, she organizes literary salons and is revising a historical fiction novel set in the town of Gray, Tennessee. She is excited to return to teaching in an academic environment.

Robert George Butler

Robert Butler is a versatile Teacher, Facilitator and Guide with a strong background in English language teaching and a passion for guiding and mentoring individuals. With expertise in various teaching skills, Robert has lectured undergraduate students in English translation and literature, conducted Cambridge exam training for CPE, CAE, and FCE, and prepared students for the IELTS exam.

Robert holds various qualifications, including a Diploma in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, CELTYL, TESOL, Post Graduate Diploma in Social Work from the University of Wales and a BSc (Hons) in Sociology and Politics from the University of Plymouth.

Robert has held teaching positions at FCSH – Universidade Nova de Lisboa and the British Council in Lisbon, Porto, and Tunis. He has also worked in the U.K and Australia, teaching pre-sessional English courses.

Robert has been involved in various projects as an author, including books such as “Hidden Beaches,” “Beyond Lisbon,” and “Além Lisboa.” He has also served as a lead guide for Sintra Treks and conducted nature therapy hikes and nature fix programs for children in schools.
